Local municipalities must deal with waste collection, and often have "Household Hazardous Waste Collection Days", when residents can drop off their hazardous materials safely. Second Life Computer is actively negotiating with local municipalities to organize "HouseHold E-Waste Collection Days" so residents can safely dispose of their discarded computer equipment, knowing that they are keeping the equipment out of the waste stream and protecting the environment. Second Life Computer would set up collection stations in the local community, so residents could drop off their discarded computers, monitors, printers, and other discarded equipment at a convenient location This program would model the Allegheny County Household Hazardous Waste Collection Days, outlined below.
