Second Life Computer's system for destroying data from hard drives guarantees that your data cannot be recovered under any means.
Just because you delete all your files that does not mean it can not be recovered. One of destroying the data that is in your hard is by destroying the hard drive itself. In that case you are sending these hard drives to the landfill and adding to the to the harmful e-waste. Second option is to destroy your data from you hard disk permanently and then recyle the product. Computer's journey lets you choose the method you would like to use for recycling your computer hard disks. You can choose to complete destruction of data and then completely destruction of the hard drive. But as I mentioned before this is not a environmentally friendly method. So the environmentally friendly option is overwrite the data with new data with garbage data for 100s of times. This is the best solution out there and it ensures that no one can get your data back. After going through this process the hard drive can be reused or recycled.
Your data security is very important to us, so we did extensive research to find some good software that can ensure data destruction. You can do it yourself or you can choose to let us do it. There are free tools out there that can help. Among the free tools Eraser 5.7 has a very good rating. It will overwrite your data up to 35 times. The government's own standard requires 7 passes. It is a good idea to use more than one tool to destroy your data. We are working on a list to help you choose multiple tools to destroy your data. If you choose us to destroy your data we will use an in house software that will over write your data more than 100 times and also scramble it in the process. This process can be time consuming depending on the size of the hard drive.
